eh… I appreciate the idea of this but he’s sort of missing a couple vital points. One, the idea behind superhero outfits is fantasy. I will certainly grant that your average superheroine is overtly sexually designed (i use that as a theme in Hellcats all the time…. http://www.cosmichellcats.com/ cheap plug), but it’s a fantasy medium. Superman’s outfit is impractical too.
On top of that, this ISN’T realistic. They’re overdressed. Unless they’re in the Tundra. The Black Canary outfit is fine for an alternate outfit. Powergirl’s would work in some settings, more D&D than DC. Supergirl on the other hand is wearing 4 layers (plus, presumedly underwear). I don’t know a single woman in real life who commonly wears pants, a dress, a t-shirt over the dress and a cape. And Wonder Woman’s is just ridiculously impractical. If they wanted to argue realistic armor for her fine. But what the hell is with dockers under a tunic under armor?
