Now I’m wondering. You know how the punk culture got to be mainstream enough that you could be a part of the real world? Like you see businessmen with long hair, tattoos and earrings? How come that never happened with the hip hop community?

Why can’t I go to work wearing some S1W fatigues or a Bambata daishiki and a giant red, black and green medallion?

I think I still have my Flava Flav clock that me and Charles Bruce used to wear to the ring when we were Affirmative Action. I should wear it when I teach next semester so my students always know what time it is!
