My Dearest Virginia,
I hope this letter finds you well. These past few months, i have been holed up in Pittsburgh studying the Civil War and nineteenth century literature with my fellow students. Lo, that I see the horizon and I know the final battle will end tonight when I turn in this last paper.
I fear that I won’t make it Virginia, for I can hear the Rebels coming for me in the night, and if MLA citations are not the death of me I fear consumption will be.
Please give my best to the children.
Forever Yours etc. etc,
Christopher Maverick, PFC
