Day 14: 1-14-12

Day 14: 1-14-12

Day 14 of the New Era

Sometime during my first go around with this project I started an online comic strip (cheap plug). It’s still going strong and now I’ve been trying to branch out with some side projects. Back in the old days I used to be forced to draw stuff on *gasp* paper. But these days, I do it on a Wacom Cintiq digital tablet.

So here we have a look into the creative process. This is me working on my new book that I hope to have done soon, Katt & Dawg, a Cosmic Hellcats spinoff.

Day 13 of the New Era

I think I used to be more intersting when I did 365 before. Now I have a lot of days when I come home from work and all I want to do is lay down and take a nap. So on a day like today. we’ll just settle for a nice simple "let’s fire up Photo Booth on the Macbook and let what happens happen."

Day 11 of the New Era

So, after yesterday, I’m pretty much out of things to do with the whole grad school thing. I don’t know what will happen so mostly I’m just trying not to worry about it.

Umm, good luck with that.

Yeah, sadly, I don’t have much else going on to think about. So that gives me not much else to do for a photo either.

How did I used to do this everyday again?

Day 10 of the New Era

Ok, that’s it… GREs done. Didn’t do as well as I hoped, but I’m trying to tell myself that that’s to be expected since I didn’t study for them and I’ve been out of school for 14 years. But I’m trying to stay optimistic.

Grad school app submitted. Not happy with that either. My grades we’re the best back when I was younger, but there’s not exactly anything I can do about that now. In any case, it’s finished. Out of my hands. Time for some beer!

Day 6: 1-6-12

Day 6: 1-6-12

Day 6 of the New Era

Ok, things are starting to look a little better. Let me explain some of the stress. Basically, I’m losing my job at the end of the month. I’m a contractor, and I’ve kind of known it was coming but thought I’d have a little longer. Nope, guess not.

In any case, I have another gig lined up to start the next week. Still need to sign the contract, but barring something really out of the ordinary, I’m fine there. But that job is only going to be 1-2 months, and after that I have nothing lined up.

But I also decided that I wanted to go to grad school. Actually, I decided that a long, long time ago. But when I found out I was losing this job, I decided that I want to try to go this fall. So now, instead of taking months to a year to get all my ducks in a row for the application, I am reducing the whole process to 7 days. I take the GREs on Tuesday. I now have all reference letters farmed out. So all I have left is finishing my application and finishing my writing sample.

Basically, I’m cramming for everything, just like a real student. Hopefully if I can get in, I can get away from that practice.

Day 4: 1-4-12

Day 4: 1-4-12

Day 4 of the New Era

Last time I did this project, I used to carry my camera around with me everywhere I went, just in case I had a really good shot opportunity. But I haven’t been doing that in quite a while. So now when I see something like a pretty sunset out my window at work, I have to use my iphone to capture it. Turns out, it’s not that bad. Yay technology.

Btw, this was completely captured and edited on the iPhone 4s.

Day 3: 1-3-12

Day 3 of the New Era. Remember when I said that this year was going to be about making difficult decisions and changes in my life. Well, time to start. Really, this isn’t as bad as it looks. I hope. Crossposted to flickr
