Day 464 of 365 More. Slept in today and got up in time to watch the Steelers game. Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed. How does one of the best teams in the league (the Steelers at 7-2) lose to one of the worst (the Jets at 1-8). Not only lose,…

Day 434 of 365 More. Alas poor Yorik, I knew him, Horatio… Started the Halloween party shopping today. Still have to get a costume together. Tricky since the first party I am invited to is tomorrow night. Luckily I have an idea that I think I can put together in one day, but still, I…

Page of Staffs

Page of Staffs

Sarah was another of my very early picks for the tarot cards, but it took me a while to get to her. I had been saving the Page of Staffs for her because I thought she was perfect for it. If there was a problem it was deciding which of the many great shots of her to use for the card.

There will be more shots of her posted later.

Day 333 of 365 days. In case you’re wondering, we actually have central air in our house, but Steph won’t let me use it until I have a job. Actually, once I do, I expect she’ll continue to not let me use it because of something about saving the environment or something. *shrug* Anyway, its…

Day 314 of 365 days. For the last several years, I have promised myself that I would celebrate Juneteenth by doing something special. Or at the very least making an entry in my blog. But I always forget to. I’ve been completely neglecting my blog in favor of writing things here, so this year, I…

Ambriella 300

Ambriella 300

I love when i meet a model who is absolutely perfect for a Tarot card idea I have. I was talking to my friend Connie (who posed with her son for the Judgement card) and telling her of my idea for the ten and ace of swords cards. I wanted the cutest, most petite, goth girl I could find holding a broad sword bigger than she was. A minute later, Connie found Ambriella on Model Mayhem (where I’ve gotten several models for this project). I wrote her and she was totally into the idea. Hopefully I’ll get to shoot her again soon.

Day 300 of 365 days. Ok, yeah… who has known me for more than like 20 seconds and couldn’t see this one coming. I can’t believe I’ve gotten this far. Half the time, it hardly seems like I’ve been doing this project a month, and the other half the time I can’t remember ever NOT…

Amaya 300

Amaya 300

Amaya had this crazy notion of working with something like 1,642,334,563,434,278 photographers in 48 hours during her roadtrip. I was the absolute last on the list. She was dead tired by the time she got to me, but I’m still pretty pleased with how the pics turned out.

Yes, its the 300 effect processing again. I’m becoming as fond of it as I am of chiaroscuro backdrops. Maybe it’s a phase that I’ll grow out of.

Five of Staffs

Five of Staffs

This is the second time I have coerced a model’s escort into posing for the tarot deck as well. And once again I am pretty pleased with the result. Kenny looks great with a black eye, I think. I’m starting to really like this high detail, desaturated 300 effect I am using lately. Originally the staff cards were going to be high saturation, but I think the grainy look suits them better. It makes a nice contrast to the sword cards I think.

Damsel 300

Liz came over to do her shoot for the Maverick Tarot set, where she is my Page of Swords. Never wanting to waste the opportunity at a good photoshoot with someone so babeliscious, we took a bunch of other shots as well.

This was a close second pick for the page card. Ultimately, I decided that the one I picked was much more rebellious and and bold and therefore used it for the Page, but I liked this shot so much that I wanted to do something with it. So I processed it with what I am calling my "300 effect." I like how it turned out a lot.

Yara meditation

Yara meditation

More shots from the Yara photoshoot I did on Thursday. I’m quite pleased with that shoot. I think I got a nice set out of it.

In this one I was trying some other photo processing techniques. Closer to what I’m doing with the Staff cards. I was going for kind of a "300" feel to it.
