Three of Coins

Three of Coins

Weird thing about this whole being an artist gig. When I was at a friends wedding the other day, I got introduced to a model and we started talking about the Tarot project and she instantly wanted to do it. So we swapped numbers and here we are, the first tarot card I’ve finished in a while.

I was worried about this one actually, as per all coin cards, it had to be sepia, but as per the concept of three cards, it had to be a mirror or clone shot. I was worried that the sepia against the B&W of a cup card would be too weird, but I actually kind of like it. It really kind of gives me the yin yang sense that I’m trying to pull off with the threes.

Amaya had the idea of doing a nude photoshoot down at one of her favorite spots in West Virginia. So I took Rachael and Laurie down there to do the shoot with her.

We got there at the crack of dawn to catch golden hour light which provided some amazing results in my opinion.

Liz came over to do her shoot for the Maverick Tarot set, where she is my Page of Swords. Never wanting to waste the opportunity at a good photoshoot with someone so babeliscious, we took a bunch of other shots as well.

Did the KGB have an equivalent of the USO? I really think this has the appeal of an old fashioned pinup shot… you know… accept the whole communist thing.

Day 279 of 365 days. So I never heard from my model for this morning, so I guess that pretty much means that shoot is cancelled. Spent the morning editing some photos, and then got a phone call from Shannon asking me if I wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese for her son, Parker’s…

Day 230 of 365 days. One of the nice things about the Class with Dave group is that it forces me to get off my ass and do different shots. I actually thought of this one weeks ago, but just never got around to it. But this week with a health and fitness assignment, I…

Day 210 of 365 days. Earlier this week, Marvel Comics made the "shocking" decision to kill off Captain America in the name of a sales boost. What’s the shocking part? The world actually cared. It was in the papers. It was on the news. Non-comic book fans went into my local comic shop and bought…

Did a photoshoot with Theresa the other day. It was the first time she modeled for me (or anyone) but I think she did great. She’s quite animated and about the friendliest person ever.

These first four from the set are in the clothes she showed up in. I like to spend sometime talking to each model and just relating and being friendly. It’s the first part of getting natural emotions.

She has a gorgeous smile, but in this shot, I can tell she’s still kind of nervous.

The other day, I did a photoshoot with the lovely and talented Liz. It was the first time I shot her, but she did a great job and I can’t wait to do it again.

I’ve decided to start posting the photos as I finish them instead of waiting for the entire set to be done.

Day 100 of 365 days. One hundred days. Never would have thought I’d make it that far. Wanted to do something special that might stand out a bit in order to commemerate it. I hope this fits the bill. I noticed that I hadn’t been doing as much photoshop gimmickery lately, and part of me…
