XVI-Tower 2

XVI-Tower 2

Usually I only post four or five photos from a shoot at a time, but I’m still running way behind, so I spent the evening editing my entire shoot with Jonny.

It’s rare that I find male models on Model Mayhem, and it’s even rarer that one contacts me. But Jonny did and volunteered for the Tarot deck. Which was perfect because he had exactly the right look for my redo of the Tower Card. He was looking for some TFCD work in my style and in particular liked some of my motifs I use a lot (martial arts weapons and the comic posterization for the tarot deck). So it all worked out pretty good.

Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups

I have a hard time finding male models. I get a lot of my female models through Model Mayhem but there just aren’t as many men there.

Luckily I know a gazillion male wrestlers. Facade was perfect for my Eight of Cups card. I asked him to do it ages ago, but we only recently got around to shooting it. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

Seven of Cups

Seven of Cups

After doing no Tarot cards for months, I got three done this week. All with new models. Kinda weird the way they go in bursts like that.

This one is Miaa and Xero. They were supposed to do a longer shoot, but Miaa wasn’t feeling well. Yet they still showed up to make sure they got the tarot card done. For that I am very thankful. Definitely have to get them back to do a longer shoot soon.

Five of Cups

After doing no Tarot cards for months, I got three done this week. All with new models. Kinda weird the way they go in bursts like that.

This one is staring Marybeth, who I did a big shoot with on back on Thursday. A lot more shots of her to come, but I’m actually four shoots of editing behind right now, so it may take me a while to catch up.

Seven of Swords

Seven of Swords

When Mickey was travelling across country last week for her big move, she and her boyfriend, Jeff, stopped by to do a little photoshoot for the old Tarot deck.

I’ve been looking forward to getting some of the Seven cards done. My theme with the sevens is to use multiple people. I really loved shooting the Lovers and Judgement cards and I was really looking forward to shooting a card with another couple. The interplay you get between two models is always so much more expressive than what you get with one individual alone.

While the other two multiple person cards I did so far were very loving, it was nice to be able to do something antagonistic and moody like this one.

I think they both did a great job.

Eight of Staffs

Eight of Staffs

so I actually used Scarlett for the Eight of Staffs card before, but the more I thought about it, the more I decided I didn’t like it, so I decided to redo the card with a shot I liked better.

I also wanted the tattoo of the staff/heaven symbol to be less obvious. If you haven’t been following along, each of my tarot suits has a theme and each number has a less obvious theme. The theme for the eights is including the suit sigil. I felt it was too overpowering on the old card, so I decided to disguise it in a more intricate tattoo on this version.

Anyway, let me know what you think. Do you prefer this one or the older version.

Four of Cups

And I am caught up with my tarot cards. I still have a couple I want to redo slightly (moving some pictures to different numbers) but at least I’ve finally gotten through all of the ones that I was backlogged on.

This is Leia. She was nice enough to sit for a Tarot shoot a few weeks ago (ended up in my 365 for that day). There’s some other photos of her as well that I’ll hopefully get to sooner rather than later.

Six of Staffs 2

Six of Staffs 2

I actually already did a 6 of Staffs card a while back before Dyllan moved to Hawaii. But over time I’ve started liking it less and less, so I decided to redo it with another pic from the shoot. I’m actually pretty happy with this version. Hopefully the message comes across better.
